In the north of Karnataka heavy rain is still raging and hit by floods, with the monsoon gaining major strength these last few days. At least six were killed as a result of rescue efforts to evacuate individuals in flooded areas since Monday.
In many areas, train, bus services were affected.
Today, Indian Navy has saved more than 500 people from flooded areas close the Kadra Dam area in the village of Kaiga. Constructed across the Kali River, Kadra Dam has witnessed a water-level increase in the midst of heavy downpour.
The rainfall has struck the ordinary lives in Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Mangaluru, Kodagu, Hubballi-Dharwad, Charwar, Hassan and Shivamogga while Belagavi, Bagalkote, Vijayapura, Raichur and Yadgir have been struck by the floods.
