Young Hollywood is full of self-made social media stars but there are still some traditional actors making waves in this new era. Hunter Payton, stage name Hunter Payton Mendoza, booked his first role at the age of 6 and has been working regularly in the industry ever since.
His first big break came when he booked the recurring role of Young Andrew (younger version of Ben Feldman) on the NBC’ series A to Z, and since then, he has worked regularly over the years. The past year has been the busiest yet for this young star on the rise with multiple bookings in film and television. Fans will soon see him as Ryder in the feature film ‘A Genie’s Tail’ where he worked alongside names such as Laura Marano and Jake Paul. The film is set to release early 2020. Hunter will also Guest Star on Disney’s Ravens Home in January 2020 where he plays Jordan.
When asked what his thoughts are about being a young actor, Payton said “Working in Hollywood can be a frustrating yet very rewarding experience. Sometimes you can go months without a booking, and then you might book several things in a short span. It all happens fast and you always have to be prepared and ready at any time. It’s part of the thrill of being in the industry. You can get a call from your agent or manager about a role at any time and be on set shooting 24 hours later.”
Hunter has a strong social media following with over 90,000 followers on instagram and he strives to use his social media platforms in a positive way. “Social media does play an important part in the industry, and I like to focus on using my social platform for good. I try to be the best role model I can for my fans.” Payton is planning to launch a charity called Hats For Thoughts in 2020 in remembrance of his grandfather who passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease.
Hunter’s motto is “Be the Best Version of Yourself” as that is how he lives his life.
